Baby bonnets are so cute. All of the cute lacy caps in their cute little white and pink colors look so nice. The little bows decorating the tops of their little heads. Mom, you can just imagine your newborn baby wearing all of these little bonnets.

Dad, are you starting to cringe? You are picturing the new little man having feminine little baby bonnets put on his little head. Time for you to step up to the plate and do a little shopping on your own. Did you know there are bonnets for boys which look like your favorite baseball teams caps? There are others which look like fishing hats, football helmets, and even Nascar race helmets. Do not get too crazy or mom will never put them on his head.

A little more safe way to choose baby boy bonnets is to go with strong blue colors, denims, and simple designs. Stay away from the lace.

Now, for the little girls, the sky is the limit. Baby bonnets in yellow, white, pink, light lavender, and a variety of colors to match their cute little outfits are not only appropriate, but are almost required. If you do not believe it, ask most mothers.

Bonnets can be of simple lacy looking fabrics if this is what you want, but you might want something a little more special. Hand knitted or crocheted baby bonnets look great, feel great, and will keep your newborn’s head warmer than a simple fabric bonnet.

Most bonnets seem to be solid in color, which can seem a little bit boring. If you do a little more looking you can find baby hats and bonnets in a variety of different printed designs. These can be very baby looking prints like rubber ducks, baby toys, and other baby items. They can take the form of more bold prints in bright colors with flowers, blocks, and geometric designs.

One other type of bonnet you may have is the ones which come bundled with the baby outfits. These are often in matching fabrics to the outfit itself, and look great. Dad, you can relax again. If the little boy’s outfit includes a bonnet or hat it will match the outfit and look great on him. No worries about everyone thinking your little boy is a girl.

Mom, you already know the hats look great, and you love to have your baby wearing them, so you can ignore this next message. Dad, those little baby bonnets serve a purpose. Your baby loses a lot of their body heat right through the top of their little heads. One of the most important things to keeping them warm is keeping a hat on their heads. This becomes less important as they get older, but for a newborn it can be very important. Make your wife happy and agree all of the bonnets look great, you are helping out your new baby, not just her interest in cuteness. Mom, you can listen again, we have Dad taken care of, go ahead and get out the baby bonnets.
