Moms don’t get upset. You know almost every father in the world dreams of their little boy turning into the greatest athlete in the world. You can’t choose a name which is going to sound girlish or weak, it must be a name for announcers to scream.

Don’t get too worried, your husband is not going to be looking for names like Hulk, Hercules, Goliath, or Brutus. Now you can worry a little, he might use all of those names when playing with your new son.

Most men step aside and let the wife choose the names. It may not be fair, but they want their wife to be happy. Here’s a little secret. Most men love the idea of carrying on a family tradition, or name. Including their Dad, or favorite Grandpa’s name either as a first or second name will probably delight him.

Most men also have a strong distaste for fancy new names. They prefer strong, traditional names for their sons. Names like John, Jason, Mark, Matthew, Thomas, and Timothy normally top men’s lists of favorite names.

You might believe your husband would love their baby boys names to be similar to their favorite athletes or heroes. Most likely you are wrong. They want their son’s name to be the new legend, to create their own name in the world. Men expect big things from their sons, even if it is just growing up to be a great young man.

Women on the other hand, sometimes prefer little boys to have cute names. If you’re considering cute baby boys names, make sure of one thing, they are names which grow up with the man. No man wants a “cute” name. You can be very sure if they have a cute name, they will choose to be called something else later on.

One of the best ways to choose baby boys names is to rely on history. Look through the names which have held their power over time. Your husband is going to love those choices. He may never admit his aversion to other names, but it is probably hiding there in the background. One way to find out is to make a list of 10 names, have half strong traditional names, and half names you just love, which may not be so traditional. Ask your husband to pick 3 from the list. The odds are very high all 3 will be traditional names.

There is nothing wrong with coming up with unique baby boy names, but it will usually sit with the men in the family better if the names are similar in sound and feel to traditional male names. Men can be stubborn that way. Cute names for girls, men’s names for boys.

Ladies, don’t let your man take all of the fun out of choosing baby boys names. You can choose all sorts of cute nicknames. Dad’s even love to call their little baby boys cute names when they are babies, and young guys. They just know the facts of life, boys need strong names to line up with their buddies during football practice. They can’t be Mattie any more, it’s time to be MATT.
