Monster trucks, dinosaurs, roaring lions, and raging waterfalls, they may sound fantastic to many of us, and would be great in a 10 year old boys room. They should not be considered at all in your choice of baby room themes. There is a reason bright colors and soft feels are popular.
Your baby is going to be able to notice bright colors long before they can see dark, muted, or deep colors. Choosing your baby room themes to use a wide range of bright colors is one way to start stimulating their mind. Fun items like balloons, cuddly animal caricatures, rainbows, and sky scenes are excellent choices.
Another item your baby will start picking up on at an early age is faces. This advice is going in a completely different direction. It would be wise to stay away from having your baby room themes filled with faces of clowns, or other faces which appear human. You want your baby to be able to focus on your face, and have the expectation when they see a face they are going to be taken care of. You do not want a face sitting beside the crib which never responds.
One of the biggest things to keep in mind while choosing colors and decor for your baby’s room is to think in terms of what uplifts your spirit. Usually the answer is bright colors, and fun items. You can find hundreds of different wall papers, templates, and other items in most large home decorating centers designed specifically for a baby’s room. You could spend hours going through the choices.
Another way to narrow down your theme is to start thinking about what items you are putting in the baby’s room. Have you already bought a high chair, changing table, or other furniture which has any color schemes or characters on them? If so, you can build upon those themes to complete the feel of the baby’s room.
Dad, just because the baby is going to be a boy does not mean the nursery needs to become tough. It can become sport oriented if you want. Using a theme of baseball bats, basketballs, golf equipment, and other sporting items can be fun. You can find themes based around sports which use cartoon caricatures of the sports items and sometimes include small cartoon kids using the items.
Your baby room themes have unlimited possibilities. You can use one of the idea you discover in the home decorating stores, your own unique ideas, or a combination of them. Sometimes using wall paper on one wall to create a picture and then painting a more simple and enjoyable color on the other three walls works great. Let your imagination run wild and have fun in this room. The one thing you know, within one or two years it will be time to graduate the room up a level, so just relax and have fun.
