Funky Baby Clothes – Give Your Baby’s Clothes Some Serious Kick

29 July 2010 | Written by Baby Cherish

Are you getting tired of all the same cutesy little baby clothes? You want something a little further out on the edge, with a little pizazz, and attitude. Funky baby clothes with a touch of Rock ‘N Roll, Rap, or Pop in them are exactly what you need.

Imagine instead of light blue or pink outfits of suddenly having something in a blazing red, a passionate hot pink, or neon blue. Not only are the colors going to pop out at you, so are the styles, and message.

The styles can be simple like low-riding jeans, a hip-hop shirt, and a matching hat. They could be a wild looking design on a t-shirt emblazoned with an edgy message with a baby style.

The fun part of choosing funky baby clothes is making your baby look different. When you show up at a family get together all the other little babies will be dressed up in their traditional garb. Your baby will stand out as the baby with attitude and personality. When your baby lets loose with some loud crying you can just explain they are practicing the words to their new song.

All joking aside, as you start checking into hip-hop, rock ‘n roll, and funky baby clothes you need to keep a few common sense things in mind. Check to see what kind of materials are used in the clothes. The higher the percentage of cotton the more comfortable your baby will be. Make sure to consider the size of the design on the shirt, especially if it is a plastic feeling design. This portion of the outfit will not breathe and your baby may start sweating heavily underneath this area of the outfit.

Along with checking the kinds of fabrics, check on the fit. Make sure the clothes will stay loosely fitting and comfortable. Some styles might look better tight, but your baby’s comfort needs to be first.

If you are looking at adding shoes, and your baby is trying to learn to walk, make sure you look for soft soled shoes which match the style you want. Baby shoes need to have very little drag, and need to be flexible to allow your baby to move easily.

It may be tempting to start buying some “bling” to decorate your baby’s outfit, but you already know they are going to be grabbing it, putting it in their mouth, and could potentially choke, so stick with just the clothing.

If you want to save money avoid the temptation to buy shirts, jackets, and hats at concerts or other spectacular events. You can probably buy two or three items for the same price in a good baby boutique or online instead of wasting your money at the concert site.

Take a close look at your baby girl or boy’s face and decide how edgy the tyke really is. Then it is time to get wild and find some unique funky baby clothes to make them look great.
