Traditional Baby Clothes – What Tradition Are You Talking About?

Traditional baby clothes is a very interesting term and one which gets thrown around all the time. What tradition are you trying to follow?

The amazing thing is how people throw out the phrase traditional baby clothes, or do a search for it, and then are amazed with what they find. Let use stop and think about the phrase and what you are probably going to find as your start your hunt.

If you happen to be sitting in Japan, traditional baby clothes is going to include tiny kimonos, silk pajama outfits, and other brightly colored outfits. The clothes my include Japanese writing, masks, and other symbols of their rich culture.

Traditional baby clothes from Mexico can be brightly colored greens, yellows, reds, and blues. Colors so bright they would burn the eyes out of a less visually expressive culture.

Traditional Indian baby clothes are much more subtle than the bright colors of Mexico, or even the reds and gold of China. The clothes are often a deep red, gold, yellow, or brown color.

Jumping into the USA traditional baby clothes can mean many things. It can be the little white t-shirts and pants used for sleeping at night. It can be simple dresses for girls, jeans and t-shirts for boys. Traditional clothes can even be Garanimals clothes which are popular with many parents.

The problem with saying traditional baby clothes is determining which cultures traditions, your definition of tradition, and what you really want your baby to look like. Do you want your baby dressed in antique baby clothes? Are you looking for simple baby snapsuits to fill out their wardrobe? Maybe you just want a closet full of easy to change t-shirts for the day, and only want to put on fancy clothes when you are going going out.

Instead of trying to follow another person’s idea of traditional baby clothes, start your own tradition. Choose outfits from various cultures, buy a wide range of comfortable clothes for your baby, and get a few beautiful sets of baby clothes.

The only tradition which really matters is making sure our baby is comfortable and able to have fun. The best traditions are to make sure your baby can move easily, play comfortably, and is not whining because they do not like the clothing.

The only traditional baby clothes you need to worry about are outfits for your favorite holidays. This is the place people expect a special look, and one you can provide with ease. Those cute red or green outfits for Christmas look great and are filled with tradition. Buy colorful white, yellow, and pink dresses for girls and little suits for the boys to celebrate Easter Sunday is a big tradition in many Christian societies. Choose what “traditional” means to you, and then just have fun.
